Mr. Park Chung-gun received the Third-class Labor Medal at the Gratitude Ceremony

On October 8th, Vietnam Shooting Federation presided over and coordinated Sports Authority of Viet Nam to organize a meeting and gratitude to Mr. Park Chung-gun- Former expert, former head coach of the Viet Nam National Shooting Team. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong attended and authorized the State President to award the Third-class Labor Medal to Mr. Park Chung-gun

Attending the meeting and gratitude ceremony were Chairman of Sports Authority of Viet Nam Dang Ha Viet, Vice Chairwoman Le Thi Hoang Yen, Chairman of Viet Nam Shooting Federation Do Van Binh and a large number of reporters, journalists, officials, and members of Vietnam Shooting Team.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Ha Viet recognized the contribution of Mr. Park Chung-gun to Viet Nam Shooting in general and Viet Nam Sports in particular. In particular, in 10 years of working and accompanying with Viet Nam Shooting, Mr. Park Chung-gun and his student, shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh, created a historical milestone for Viet Nam Shooting when winning the Gold Medal and Silver medal at Olympic Rio 2016. In addition, the Gold Medal of shooter Pham Quang Huy at ASIAD 19 also has a great contribution to the training efforts of expert Park Chung-gun in the Vietnamese Shooting Team.

At the ceremony, expert Park Chung-gun was honored to receive the Third-class Labor Medal awarded by the State President. This is a reward for the persistent contribution of the Korean expert. Authorized by the State President, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented this award and congratulated Mr. Park Chung-gun.

After 10 years of dedication and attachment to Viet Nam Shooting, on August 31, 2024, Mr. Park's contract expires. Sports Authority of Viet Nam and expert Park Chung-gun have exchanged and negotiated to extend the contract. However, Mr. Park decided not to re-sign a new contract for personal reasons, closing the beautiful memories with Shooting and the country of Vietnam. Before making the decision to stop training Viet Nam Shooting Team and return to homeland, Mr. Park sent his deepest thanks to the leaders of Sports Authority of Viet Nam, Vietnamese fans, and journalists who have always supported him and the Shooting team. These are incredibly precious sentiments that helped him complete his mission well in Vietnam.

Mr. Park affirmed that, although he will no longer accompany Viet Nam shooting team, the beautiful memories of his time in Viet Nam will always remain in his mind, and his love for Viet Nam will never fade.
