On January 16, the Vietnam women’s Futsal team had a strong start in the 2025 AFC Women's Futsal championship qualifiers, defeating host country Myanmar 5-1 in Group D.

The Vietnam women’s Futsal team entered the match with confidence, quickly pressing forward right after the opening whistle.

In the 2nd minute, following a corner kick from Tran Thuy Thi Trang, the ball was perfectly delivered to K’Thủa, who scored a beautiful goal to give Vietnam a 1-0 lead.

The early goal boosted the morale of coach Nguyen Đinh Hoang's players, and they continued to apply pressure on Myanmar, easily extending their lead to 2-0 and then 3-0, with goals from Phuong Anh and Thu Xuan.

On the other hand, despite conceding goals, Myanmar’s players fought to maintain their formation and even managed to pull one back with a goal from Ya Min Thant Zin, narrowing the score to 3-1.

However, that was all the host team could manage. In the 14th minute, the score changed again with a fourth goal for Vietnam, marking a stunning double for Phuong Anh.

The final score was set at 5-1, with K’Thủa scoring her second goal. With this result, coach Nguyen Đinh Hoang's team secured a comfortable 3 points in their opening match.

In the other match of Group D, the Chinese Taipei women’s Futsal team made a strong impression by defeating the Macau women’s Futsal team 18-0. Therefore, despite both teams earning 3 points, the Chinese Taipei women’s Futsal team currently leads the group on goal difference.

At 14:30 on January 17, the Vietnam women’s Futsal team will face the Macau women’s Futsal team, before an important match against the Chinese Taipei women’s Futsal team on January 19.
