Rowing won two golds at the Asian Championships

The Vietnam rowing team concluded the 2024 Asian Championships in Uzbekistan with an impressive record of two golds, two silvers, and three bronzes, ranking 4th overall.

The team kicked off the championships by winning a gold medal in the women's double sculls event, with athletes Phạm Thị Huệ and Dinh Thi Hao defeating teams from China and Hong Kong on October 12.

The second gold medal was secured in the women's eight category by Nguyen Thi Giang, Phan Thi Thao, Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Le Thi Hien, Ha Thi Vui, Dinh Thi Hao, Pham Thi Hue, Du Thi Bong, and Luong Thi Thao on October 13.

Additionally, the Vietnam rowing team won two silvers in the lightweight men's double sculls, where Dinh The Duc and Nguyen Huu Thanh narrowly lost to the home team from Uzbekistan in the finals, as well as in the women's four with a coxswain featuring Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Le Thi Hien, Ha Thi Vui, and Du Thi Bong.

China dominated with seven golds. Host Uzbekistan placed second with five, while Iran were in third place earning two golds and three silvers, one silver more than Vietnam.
