SAV Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen thanked Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir for spending time to visit and work with the Vietnamese sport governing body.
She said the cooperation between the two sides were currently at the federation and association level.

In recent years, there have had many successful activities organised. Notably, the two sides have sent teams to compete in different Sports Games and competitions held in each country. Every year, the Indian government grants many yoga scholarships to Vietnamese candidates.
Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen was pleased to announce that in response to the annual International Yoga Day, Viet Nam organised a variety of activities in many cities and provinces with the participation of thousands of people.
Specifically, India would send experts to support training for Vietnamese athletes; assist training and competition equipment for Viet Nam; as well as receive Vietnamese athletes to come to India for intensive practice and competitions in the athletics and archery sections.
Along with that, she asked for stronger promotion in sport activities for women, typically yoga.
Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen hoped that through this cooperation, the two sides could share valuable experiences in sports and physical training and at the same time effectively implement activities that contribute to further tightening the relationship between the two countries.
Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir thanked Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen for welcoming her delegation and appreciated the cooperation between them in the past.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir said she had just taken up her assignment in Viet Nam but already felt the warmth of the host people and the closeness of Vietnamese culture and cuisine to India.
Regarding sports, Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir said that Viet Nam achieved many good results, especially in archery and football. Therefore, she wanted to promote the cooperation, which was currently at the federation level, for these sports.
She also hoped that the archery and football federations of the two countries would meet, exchange information and inspect the infrastructure of each side in the near future. She expressed her willingness to bridge these federations to have a smooth cooperation process.
In addition, Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir highly appreciated the strong development of yoga movement in Viet Nam. To prepare for a successful and meaningful International Yoga Day this year, she hoped to receive helpful support from the SAV.
Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir believed that this working session would pave the way for more activities, especially for yoga, athletics and archery, in the future.
She said the cooperation should not only focus on these three sports. She would actively coordinate and create conditions for both two sides to develop many other sports.
Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir assessed that the Viet Nam’s proposal for athletics and archery was a good idea and would discuss with relevant agencies for further steps.
Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen agreed with Deputy Chief of Mission Ajungla Jamir and hoped the issues discussed at the working session would be carried out in the near future.
