Ambassador Olivier Brochet reviewed the events accompanying Vietnamese sports ahead of the Summer Olympics- Paris 2024, such as visiting and working at the National Sports Training Centers; visiting and encouraging the spirits of the Rowing and Canoeing athletes; visiting the Vietnamese disabled sports team currently training at the National Sports Training Center in Ho Chi Minh City... Through these activities, Ambassador Olivier Brochet expressed his admiration for the preparation efforts of the Vietnamese sports delegation ahead of a major sporting event. Through this, it helps His Excellency the Ambassador to understand more, thereby feeling closer to Vietnamese Sports.
Ambassador Olivier Brochet also expressed his delight that the activities organized in schools in Viet Nam in 2024 to promote the Summer Olympics- Paris 2024 have attracted a large number of Vietnamese and French students to participate.

Vietnam – France strengthen cooperation in the field of sports
Also at the meeting, Ambassador Olivier Brochet emphasized his deep emotion for the warm and affectionate feelings that the members of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Sports Authority of Viet Nam have shown him since he began his tenure. Therefore, Ambassador Olivier Brochet believes that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Sports Authority of Viet Nam and the Embassy of France somewhat reflects the spirit of camaraderie, while also strongly demonstrating the goal of contributing to the realization of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Ambassador Olivier Brochet affirmed: The Memorandum of Understanding will open up prospects for collaboration with a wealth of diverse content. To support this cooperation agreement, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has allocated a budget of 80,000 euros to implement initial activities such as organizing workshops and supporting sports federations and associations in Vietnam.
Finally, Ambassador Olivier Brochet believes that with Viet Nam's active cooperation, the two sides will organize many promotional activities so that the Vietnamese people can understand the importance of sports and support disadvantaged groups, including women and girls.
Among the activities that the Embassy of France will implement soon, Ambassador Olivier Brochet emphasized the event "Touring France and the Francophone Space," with a highlight being the running event taking place on March 29. To ensure the success of this event, Ambassador Olivier Brochet hopes that the Sports Authority of Viet Nam will accompany and support it.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Sports Authority of Viet Nam and the Embassy of France was signed on February 12, 2025. The Sports Authority of Viet Nam specified: priority areas of cooperation to promote exchange activities, learning, delegation exchanges, contributing to strengthening and developing the good relationship between the two countries.
The Memorandum of Understandingwas signed to achieve two objectives: Developing the capabilities of athletes in the field of high-performance sports; and enhancing the value of sports training for the youth of both countries to strengthen mutual understanding through sports.
