On the final day of competition (taking place late at night on August 12 local time), Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy competed in the women’s 60kg weight class but lost to her opponent Zhiqin Li (China) with a score of 0-2. Thereby, winning the second silver medal for the Vietnamese Wushu team.

Remarkably, this is the first time Thu Thuy has participated in the World Games but she has made an effort to reach the final. This is a very encouraging achievement and opens up a promising future for Thu Thuy as well as Vietnamese Wushu in international arenas taking place in the near future.
In the men's 56kg weight class, boxer Do Huy Hoang also lost to home boxer Sishuo Tang (China) and received a silver medal.The team also celebrated a bronze medal.
In the women’s 52kg weight class, martial artist Ngo Thi Phuong Nga won a bronze medal.
It is known that participating in the 2025 World Games, the Vietnamese Wushu team will have 6 players who have won a place to compete in the 2025 World Games.
Vietnam is competing at the World Games with 25 athletes from the following teams: Beach Handball, Aerobics, Billiards, Petanque, Wushu, Kickboxing, Muay.
The World Games 2025 is being held in Chengdu, China, from August 7 to 1. The competition program will feature 256 events in 34 sports. This edition has gathered 6,679 participants, including nearly 4,000 athletes from 116 countries and territories, competing for 256 medal sets.
