Vietnamese Esports ready to reach out to the world

Vietnamese esports has continuously received good news as Vietnamese clubs participating in the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) — the world’s largest annual club-level esports tournament — have achieved impressive results.

According to Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA), winning a ticket to the EWC is already a challenge, because the clubs must be the leading representatives in the country as well as the region. Impressive achievements such as the runner-up position in the Truth Arena or the two Vietnamese clubs participating in PUBG reaching the finals further strengthen the belief that Vietnamese e-sports can absolutely dream of higher rankings in international tournaments.

With a runner-up finish in Teamfight Tactics and two out of three Vietnamese PUBG clubs advancing to the finals of such a major tournament like EWC, Vietnam can fully aspire to secure top positions at upcoming international sporting events. This is especially meaningful as many titles on the EWC competition list will also feature at the 33rd SEA Games, Asian Youth Games 2025, and ASIAD 2026. Many of the athletes competing at EWC are also the core force of the national team in sports such as League of Legends, VALORANT, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Crossfire...

Taking place from July 8 to August 24 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), EWC 2025 brings together 25 competitions with a total prize of up to 70 million USD, attracting the participation of 13 Vietnamese clubs in 7 sports, of which 4 sports coincide with the competition content of SEA Games 33 and ASIAD 2026.

In addition, VIRESA expressed its ambition to affirm that Vietnamese esports is moving in step with the global esports trend. This opens opportunities to strengthen capacity, attract investment, and make breakthroughs in the 2025–2030 period, bringing Vietnam closer to its vision of becoming a global esports hub. Esports will serve as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and the world, making positive contributions to Vietnam’s digital economy growth in the new era.
