The tournament gathered 1,478 athletes from 19 countries and territories around the world, with a total prize of up to 68,000 USD. In the U15 women's doubles final, the two sisters Van Chi and Van Linh only lost to two very strong players, Mandy Yu and Abigail Yu (USA) with a score of 2-3.
This is the first time Vietnam Table Tennis has participated in the tournament. The delegation consists of 12 members: Mr. Tran Canh Tuan (Vice President of Vietnam Table Tennis Federation) - Head of the delegation, Coach Huynh Ngoc Giau and 9 athletes: Nguyen Anh Tu, Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Duy Phong, Tran Mai Ngoc, Nguyen Hanh Ngan, Nguyen Nhu Quynh, Do Le Van Chi, Do Le Van Linh and Huynh Ho Thien Thao. In addition, there are a number of athletes of other ages in some localities participating in the tournament on self funded.

The fact that two sisters, Do Le Van Chi (14 years old) and Do Le Van Linh (13 years old), excellently won the silver medal at this tournament has created a surprise for fans and experts. Head of the delegation Tran Canh Tuan, who is currently in the US, said: Although they only won the silver medal, this is an excellent achievement, beyond the expectations of the two young Vietnamese players. The US Open is a major tournament with the participation of many excellent players in the world. The purpose of Vietnamese athletes coming to the tournament is to learn and compete in a large international arena. However, both Van Chi and Van Linh created a surprise with their impressive performance on today's competition day.
The joy of the Vietnamese Table Tennis team can be extended when these two players also have a high chance of winning the gold medal in the U17 women's doubles final, which will take place on December 20.
It is known that the two sisters Van Chi and Van Linh are currently students at Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School, Da Lat City (Lam Dong). Previously, both won the women's doubles and women's team championships at the 2023 National Youth Table Tennis Championship.
