Therefore, at this meeting, Director Viet hoped that the two sides would together find solutions to develop taekwondo in Viet Nam and implement the strategy’s goals successfully.

Director Kim shared Director Viet’s points of view and hoped that the two sides could reach an agreement on solutions to further develop Viet Nam's taekwondo.

During the past time, the two parties, especially CJ Group, always tried hard to find suitable plans to push Viet Nam's taekwondo development not only in the region but also in the continent and beyond at the Olympic Games.

Reviewing the results achieved in their cooperation, Head of SAV’s Department of Elite Sport 1 Hoang Quoc Vinh said: “In 2013, the SAV signed a Memorandum of Cooperation Agreement with CJ Group for the period of 2013-16.

“The two parties later signed a Cooperation Agreement on sponsoring the Vietnamese taekwondo team for the period of 2017-21 on July 8, 2020; and a Memorandum of Agreement to sponsor the Viet Nam national taekwondo team for the period of 2023-24 on February 20, 2023.

“Since then, every year, CJ Group, SAV, the Viet Nam Taekwondo Federation and the Department of Taekwondo have always coordinated tightly and implemented effectively many cooperative activities.”

To prepare for the period from now to 2030, the SAV wanted the two sides to focus on different issues such as training programmes, experts and finding funding sources for the Vietnamese taekwondo, especially for the national team athletes.

In the national Sports and Physical Training Development Strategy to 2030 with a vision to 2045, taekwondo martial artists are asked to win gold medals at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya in 2026 and medals at the Summer Olympics Los Angeles in 2028.
