Accordingly, from October 14 to 16, three Conferences will take place, including: The 15th ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting on Sports (SOMS-15) taking place on October 14; ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports and Japan (October 15) and ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports and China (October 16).
Through this event, Vietnam will demonstrate its responsibility and role as an ASEAN member in the specialized cooperation mechanism, as well as ensure Vietnam's interests with participating parties for the goal of building a peaceful, stable and prosperous ASEAN community. This summit is also an opportunity to introduce the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends, enhancing friendship and mutual understanding in the ASEAN Community.
Speaking at the meeting, Director Dang Ha Viet emphasized: This conference is the basis for the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports and related conferences in 2025 in Vietnam. Therefore, the Director requested that the delegates attending the meeting review and discuss in detail each content related to the preparation of the event.
Reporting on the preparation for the Conference, Head of the International Cooperation Department Nguyen Hai Duong said: The project to organize the 15th ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting on Sports and related Conferences in 2024, the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting on Sports and related Conferences in 2025 in Vietnam has been approved by the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
To ensure the best infrastructure, welcome representatives of Southeast Asian member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN partners, representatives of 15 participating agencies and organizations, the International Cooperation Department conducted a field survey of the Conference venue in Vinh Phuc.
Currently, the International Cooperation Department is closely coordinating with relevant units to complete the final preparations related to the reception, accommodation, guests, transportation, etc. to contribute to the successful organization of the Conference.
Regarding the communication work for the Conference, Director of the Sports Information and Communication Center Ly Duc Thuy said: The Center is in the process of building a video clip about the preparation work for the Conference to be shown at this event. The Center will also open a section to promote communication about the year Vietnam will host the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting on Sports and related Conferences in 2025.
Highly appreciating the initiative and effectiveness in coordination between the International Cooperation Department and relevant units in the process of implementing the preparation work for the Conference, Director Dang Ha Viet requested relevant parties to continue to promote their roles and complete assigned tasks on schedule and as required.
