Vietnam’s medal haul came entirely from the women’s events. In the women’s 50kg category, Do Ngoc Linh claimed a well-deserved gold medal after topping the round-robin standings. Teammate Doan Thi Kim Oanh added a bronze medal in the same weight class.
In the women’s 70kg division, Dang Thi Linh displayed dominant form to finish first among four competitors, earning Vietnam’s second gold medal. Lai Dieu Thuong secured a bronze in this category.

In the 60kg class, sisters Nguyen Thi My Trang and Nguyen Thi My Hanh both competed. My Hanh won a bronze medal, while My Trang finished fourth overall. In the women’s over-70kg category, Nguyen Thi Linh earned a silver medal, and To Thi Minh contributed another bronze to the team’s tally.
Meanwhile, Vietnam’s male wrestlers were unable to reach the podium in the 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and over-90kg divisions.
The 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series consists of five stages, with Vietnam hosting the opening event. The remaining stages will take place in Croatia (May), Georgia (June), Azerbaijan (August), and Greece (September).
Hosting a world-level beach wrestling event for the first time and winning two gold medals on home soil provide strong motivation for Vietnam’s wrestling team as they aim for further success in 2026. Earlier this year, at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in China, Vietnamese wrestlers had already secured one silver and two bronze medals, highlighting their steady progress on the international stage.
