Under the guidance of head coach Cristiano Roland, U17 Vietnam took control from the outset and quickly translated their dominance into goals. Sy Bach opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a close-range finish following a corner kick.

Vietnam continued to press and doubled the lead in the 27th minute, as Sy Bach completed his brace after a well-worked move assisted by Quy Vuong. Just before halftime, Van Duong added a third goal in the 38th minute, giving Vietnam a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break.
Malaysia attempted to push forward in the second half in search of a response, but Vietnam’s defense, along with goalkeeper Xuan Hoa, remained composed and organized. In the 56th minute, Manh Cuong sealed the result with a decisive strike inside the penalty area after receiving a pass from Anh Hao.
The convincing win places U17 Vietnam at the top of Group A after the opening round and reinforces their strong form against Malaysia, following a previous victory in the AFC U17 qualifiers.
Vietnam will next face U17 Timor-Leste on April 16 at 3:30 p.m., before taking on host U17 Indonesia on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in their final group-stage match.
With solid form and clinical finishing, U17 Vietnam have made a strong statement in their bid to progress further in the tournament.
