In the men's individual recurve event, Vietnam was represented by Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, Le Quoc Phong, and Nguyen Minh Duc. Athlete Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu reached the final. In the championship shootout, Phi Vu focused on competing but lost narrowly 5-6 to opponent Torgubaev Bair, so he received a silver medal.

On his way to the final, Phi Vu defeated strong opponents from Hong Kong (China), Kazakhstan, China, and Malaysia. His series of victories over top regional archers reflected both thorough preparation and excellent form.
In addition to the above results, Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu also won a bronze medal in the mixed men's and women's recurve team event at the 2026 Asian Cup. This archer competed with teammate Loc Thi Dao.
In the men's team compound, Dang Cong Duc, Pham Ngoc Tu, and Tran Xuan Huong delivered an impressive performance to reach the final. Although they fought hard, the Vietnamese archers were defeated by Bangladesh with a score of 225–231, earning the silver medal. The result highlighted the steady progress of Vietnam’s compound team, which has been a key focus of development efforts in recent years.
Notably, the 2026 Asian Archery Cup counts toward the World Archery ranking points system on the road to the 2028 Olympic Games. Therefore, these results carry significance beyond immediate podium finishes, contributing to Vietnam’s long-term strategy in the new Olympic cycle.
With a positive start to 2026, the Vietnam archery team is showing determination to maintain its upward trajectory, aiming for continued success at major competitions throughout the year and steadily strengthening its position on the continental and global stage.
