A representative of the Vietnam Wrestling Federation stated that being selected as host of a world-class tournament presents both a great opportunity and a significant responsibility. All preparations, from technical organization to facilities, are being carefully and systematically implemented to meet international standards and ensure a high-quality competition.
According to the plan, the tournament will take place on May 9 and 10 in Da Nang. With its favorable natural conditions, scenic coastline, and well-developed tourism infrastructure, Da Nang is expected to provide an ideal setting for a professional and exciting event. Prior to the competition, joint inspection and supervision of facilities will be carried out by both federations to ensure full compliance with requirements.
The competition content will be for men and women, attracting many of the world’s top athletes. However, the specific weight class is being carefully considered by the parties before issuing the official Competition Regulations to the participating teams. This will be a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese wrestlers to compete, gain experience, and improve their performance on home soil.
Beach wrestling has begun to be included in many official Asian and world sports festivals. Last year, beach wrestling was present at the 2025 Asian Youth Games. This year, beach wrestling will be in the competition program of the 2026 Asian Beach Games and the 2026 Youth Olympics.
The Vietnamese wrestling team is organizing a sandy beach that meets the standards for beach wrestling expertise for national team players to train during this time.
