Vietnam wons first 8 gold medals at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship

The Vietnamese youth chess team made an impressive start at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship, currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, by wons eight gold medals in the rapid chess events.

In the individual category, Dau Khuong Duy wons gold medal in the U14 men's group. Dau Khuong Duy has achieved 6 points after 7 matches, thereby finishing No. 1 overall. Khuong Duy has not lost any games in the rapid chess matches to have 5 wins and 2 draws. Although China’s Shen Fuyan also finished with 6 points, Khương Duy topped the standings thanks to superior tiebreaks.

In the U14 women's group, player Duong Ngoc Uyen surpassed her opponents to maintain the No. 1 position with a score of 6.5 points after 7 matches. Ngoc Uyen won 6 and drew 1 in her quick chess matches.

In addition to the above achievement, the Vietnam Youth Chess Team also won 6 other gold medals in team results, include the U18 men’ team (Banh Gia Huy – Dang Anh Minh – Do An Hoa), the U18 women’s team (Nguyen Le Cam Hien – Nguyen Ngọc Hien – Nguyen Ha Khanh Linh), and the U16 women’s team ( Mai Hieu Linh – Dang Le Xuan Hien – Nguyen Anh Bao Thy),…

The 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship will run until November 30. This year's tournament will organize rapid chess, chess and standard chess for men and women in the groups U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and u20.

After the quick chess event, the players are currently playing standard chess. The standard flag also counts the individual and team achievements to award the final medals. The chess event will be played on the last day.
