In the women’s under-44kg category, Thu Huyen delivered a dominant performance in the semifinals, defeating strong opponent Fatima Alabdallat from Jordan with a convincing 2–0 victory to secure her place in the final. Although she later fell to the more experienced Aiym Serikbayeva from Kazakhstan with a score of 0–2, Huyen’s silver medal was a testament to her effort and a valuable experience at the continental level.
The two bronze medals for Vietnam were claimed by Tran Ho Nhan Van in the men’s over-73kg category and Bui Mai Phuong in the women’s over-63kg category.
These achievements in Taekwondo have provided a significant boost of motivation for Team Vietnam, led by Chief of Mission Dao Duc Kien, as the delegation continues its journey to pursue further success at the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
