Competing in the women’s 48kg category (ages 14–15), Thu Phuong advanced to the final match against a strong opponent — Rozhan Behnami of Iran.
After three impressive victories in the earlier rounds, Thu Phuong entered the final with great determination but could not overcome the dominance of her Iranian rival. She eventually lost 26–30 after three rounds, securing the silver medal.
As of the end of October 26, Team Vietnam has earned a total of five silver medals and five bronze medals, temporarily ranking 22nd overall. The Muay Thai team has contributed one silver and one bronze medal to the country’s medal tally.
