During the visit, the delegates were introduced to the history of Bat Trang, a village renowned for its fine ceramics and traditional handicrafts from across the country. They also took part in the “I’m an Artisan” program, where they had the opportunity to become potters for a day — shaping and painting their own ceramic pieces as memorable keepsakes.
In addition to the hands-on experience, the delegates explored the art of ceramic sculpture through different historical periods at the village’s exhibition center and admired a collection of contemporary ceramic artworks created by skilled local artisans.
Sharing her impressions, Ms. Paveena, a delegate from Thailand, said: “I was truly amazed and delighted by the traditional charm of this place. Learning about Vietnamese ceramics and crafting my own piece was a truly special and unforgettable experience.”
Mr. Muhamad Abdul Azias, a representative from Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, also expressed his appreciation: “The art of sculpture and lighting in Vietnam is truly remarkable. I had seen it online before, but seeing it firsthand allowed me to feel the depth of Vietnamese culture in every detail.”
The cultural excursion offered ASEAN delegates a deeper insight into Vietnam’s traditions, artistic creativity, and warm hospitality — further strengthening friendship and solidarity within the ASEAN Community.
