Vietnam win eight gold medals at 2025 Asian Youth Pencak Silat Championship

With an impressive tally of 8 golds, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes, the Vietnamese youth pencak silat team clinched first place overall at the 2025 Asian Youth Pencak Silat Championship.

The tournament took place in India from September 25–30, gathering more than 300 coaches and athletes from 11 countries. Vietnam sent a 35-member delegation, and after nearly a week of competition, the young martial artists delivered a stellar performance to top the team standings.

The Philippines finished second with 8 golds, 1 silver, and 6 bronzes, while Indonesia came third with 8 golds, 1 silver, and 3 bronzes.

According to head coach Nguyen Van Hung, this result is highly encouraging for Vietnamese young athletes, who are seen as the next generation of promising talents. He emphasized that while the team has shown great effort, continued hard work and determination are essential for achieving greater success in future tournaments.

Contributing to the squad, Ho Chi Minh City’s contingent included 1 coach, 1 referee, and 3 athletes, earning 1 silver (Nguyen Minh Thang) and 1 bronze (Bui Quang Huy) for the national team.
