On the final day of competition, Nguyen Huy Hoang, along with teammates Vo Thi My Tien, Nguyen Kha Nhi, and Mai Tran Tuan Anh, claimed gold in the mixed 4x1,500m relay. Team Vietnam triumphed with a time of 1 hour 12 minutes 53.29 seconds.

This result gave Nguyen Huy Hoang his second gold medal of the tournament, having also won the men’s 10km event on the opening day.
Vo Thi My Tien also earned two gold medals. In addition to the relay, she won the women’s 10km (20-year-old category).
Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Han secured two gold medals in the women’s 5km and 10km events (ages 16–17). Vietnam’s only silver medal went to Nguyen Vinh Thai Bao in the boys’ 5km (ages 14–15).
Open water swimming will be part of the competition program at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. The 2025 Southeast Asian Championships were considered a test event ahead of the Games. Vietnam will register swimmers for the open water events at SEA Games 33.
Following this tournament, the Vietnamese swimming team will prepare for the 2025 Asian Championships to be held in India this October.
