To begin the working session, Ms. Anna Vetoshkina expressed her gratitude to the leaders of the Vietnam Sports Authority and extended an invitation to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Vietnam Sports Administration to attend the XIII International Sports Forum - "Russia - a sporting superpower" organised by the Russian Federation in the city of Samara from November 5-7, 2025.
The Forum organising committee hopes that Vietnam will deliver a speech at the first conference, which will be held within the framework of the Forum of Ministers and Senior Officials in the Field of Sports and Dialogue Member States on Cooperation in Asia.
In response to the invitation and proposal from Ms. Anna Vetoshkina, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Authority, Mrs. Le Thi Hoang Yen, affirmed that the Vietnam Sports Authority, as the state management advisory unit in the field of sports nationwide, will convey the specific plans for activities within the framework of the Forum to the Ministry leadership for consideration and decision on sending officials to attend this important event.

In recent times, Vietnam and the Russian Federation have consistently maintained a good relationship, built upon the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries. In 2014, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of sports, which facilitated positive delegation exchanges that helped Vietnamese sports make certain strides. In February 2024, the Vietnamese Phygital Basketball team excelled against strong global competitors to win the championship at the "Games of Future" held in Kazan. Subsequently, in September 2024, leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Russian Federal Ministry of Sports discussed sports cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the 25th session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee.
Along with that, in recent times, Vietnam has repeatedly supported Russian candidates in international sports federations, such as the International Chess Federation and the International Boxing Federation.
To further promote cooperation in the field of sports, Vietnam hopes to continue receiving support, assistance, and cooperation in training and coaching in some of Russia's strong sports. In addition, in the coming time, Vietnam proposes that the Russian Federation create conditions for the reception of some Vietnamese sports for training in Russia, such as boxing and athletics.
In addition, both sides will continue to encourage Russian and Vietnamese athletes to participate in sporting events held on the territories of both countries, continue to support each other in international sports organisations, as well as at world sports forums.
