Vietnam Kurash team leads Southeast Asian Championship 2025

With an overwhelming achievement of 40 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 07 bronze medals, the Vietnamese delegation affirmed its position as the No. 1 team in the region at the Southeast Asian Kurash Championship and the Southeast Asian Beach Kurash Championship 2025 held in Indonesia.

The Southeast Asian Kurash Championship and the Southeast Asian Beach Kurash Championship 2025 were held in Indonesia from August 28 to September 1. With an overwhelming achievement of 40 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 07 bronze medals, the Vietnamese Team showed a completely superior performance compared to the remaining delegations in the region such as: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Myanmar.

Vietnam Kurash ranked No. 1 in Southeast Asia at the 2025 Kurash Championship

In the Southeast Asian Kurash Championship, Vietnamese athlete competed at their peak and won 21 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 02 bronze medals. Familiar names such as Le Cong Hoang Hai (60kg men), Bui Minh Quan (90kg men), Nguyen Thi Huong (63kg women) and To Thi Trang (48kg women) did not disappoint expectations when bringing home valuable gold medals. In particular, promising young athletes such as Nguyen Van Thanh, Danh Hao, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hieu also shone, affirming the solid inheritance of Vietnam Kurash.

At the Southeast Asian Beach Kurash Championship, Vietnam once again maintained its dominance. The athletes demonstrated excellent adaptability to the competition conditions on the sand, continuing to win 19 more gold medals, 11 silver medals and 05 bronze medals. New faces such as Ha Vi Hoa (65kg men) and Quach Tuyet Huong (78kg women) brought interesting surprises, contributing to the team's achievements.

Before entering the Southeast Asian arena, the Vietnamese Kurash team also made a splash at the 2025 Asian Kurash Championship when they won second place overall, just behind the Kurash powerhouse Uzbekistan. This achievement not only affirms the outstanding development but also shows the thorough preparation of the sport towards a bigger goal: ASIAD 2026 in Japan.

According to the coaching board, the 36 athletes participating in this tournament are the best faces carefully selected. The success of the tournament not only brings glory to the country's sports but also affirms the depth of the Vietnamese Kurash force, from the youth team to the national team.

The resounding victory in Indonesia will certainly create great motivation for the athletes on the path to conquering new heights of the continent and the world.
