Vietnam wins two gold medals at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship

As of August 25, the Vietnam Shooting Team has excellently won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship.

Specifically, in the individual events, the two gold medals went to: Nguyễn Thị Mai Chi – Women’s Junior 10m Moving Target Air Rifle, and Lê Thảo Ngọc – Women’s Junior Mixed 10m Moving Target Air Rifle.

After winning the gold medal, Nguyễn Thị Mai Chi went on to claim a silver medal in the Women’s Junior Mixed 10m Moving Target Air Rifle. The second silver medal for the Vietnam Shooting Team came from the Men’s Team 10m Moving Target Air Rifle (an event included in ASIAD 19), with athletes Ngô Hữu Vương, Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, and Hồ Lý Thành Đạt.

Meanwhile, the four bronze medals were awarded in two individual events: Trịnh Thu Vinh – Women’s 25m Sport Pistol (an Olympic event), Lê Thảo Ngọc – Women’s Junior 10m Moving Target Air Rifle; and in two team events: Women’s Junior 10m Moving Target Air Rifle, and Women’s Junior Mixed 10m Moving Target Air Rifle.

Shooting is one of Vietnam’s key sports, receiving investment with a focus on continental and world competitions. This championship is considered an important opportunity for the Vietnam Shooting Team to further pursue its performance targets as well as development strategies for 2025.

The Vietnam team competes at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship with 20 shooters, participating in both junior and senior categories. Among them are three standout athletes: Trịnh Thu Vinh, Lê Thị Mộng Tuyền, and Phạm Quang Huy.

In the upcoming competition days, Vietnam Shooting still has many chances to secure valuable medals, as several of its strong events remain.

According to the schedule, the championship will conclude on August 30. Athletes who have completed their events will return to Vietnam on August 26, 27, and 30, respectively.
