Held in Malaysia from July 21–24, the 2025 Southeast Asian Junior Fencing Championship featured a 34-member Vietnamese fencing delegation. The tournament was considered especially significant, providing a valuable opportunity for young athletes to gain international competition experience.

In the women’s individual épée event, the final match featured two Vietnamese athletes: Doan Tran Bao Thy and Nguyen Kim Ngan. At the end of the match, Kim Ngan defeated her teammate with a score of 15–9 to claim the championship title.
Meanwhile, in the men’s team épée final, Vietnam faced Singapore in the battle for the gold medal. The Vietnamese men’s épée team—consisting of Bui Xuan Luc, Nguyen Duc Trung, Nguyen Minh Nhat, and Nguyen Tuan Duy—performed effectively, scoring accurately to secure a 45–40 victory and win the gold medal.
In the women’s team épée final, the Vietnamese team—comprising Doan Tran Bao Thi, Kim Thi Hong Diep, Nguyen Kim Ngan, and Nguyen Thuy Duong—defeated Singapore with a score of 45–41. In addition to the golds, Vietnamese athletes also secured 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
In the men’s team épée event, Bui Xuan Luc, Nguyen Duc Trung, Nguyen Minh Nhat, and Nguyen Tuan Duy once again overcame the Singaporean team with a score of 45–40 to claim another gold medal.
On the final day of the competition, Vietnamese fencing continued to shine in the youth category. Fencer Tran Ngoc Phat delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Singapore’s Lee Benjamin Shijie in the men’s individual épée final, securing Vietnam’s fourth gold medal.
