Vietnamese athletes demonstrated thorough preparation and superior form. In the kata (forms) events, Vietnamese athletes brought home a total of 6 gold medals, equally divided between both divisions. In the Junior Championship (kata) division, they earned 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze, while in the Senior Championship (kata) division, they claimed 3 gold and 3 silver medals.

Building on this momentum, Vietnamese Judo achieved continuous and absolute victories in the individual kumite (sparring) weight categories of the Junior Championship division, adding 10 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze medals. This clearly demonstrates a talented and promising generation of young Vietnamese judokas.

On July 20, the final day of the tournament, Vietnamese Judo representatives brilliantly secured an additional 14 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals to lead the senior championship division.
The 2025 Southeast Asian Junior and Senior Judo Championships attracted hundreds of athletes from seven regional countries: the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, and Vietnam. The Vietnamese Judo delegation entered this year's tournament with the goal of defending its number one overall position. In 2024, the Vietnamese Judo team successfully won 20 gold, 15 silver, and 28 bronze medals, leading the overall standings.
With thorough preparation for this year's competition, Vietnamese Judo has once again affirmed its leading position in the regional arena with the overall championship title.
