The 2025 Asian Wushu Cup concluded late on July 6 (local time). This year marked the first time the Asian Wushu Federation included taolu events in the Asian Cup, while sanda events were held for the second time.

Vietnamese Wushu athletes delivered commendable performances, earning a total of two golds, eight silvers, and two bronzes.The two gold medals were won by: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien in the women’s 56kg sanda category; Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy in the women’s 60kg sanda category.
This year, Vietnam's taolu squad featured several highly anticipated athletes, including Duong Thuy Vi, Dang Tran Phuong Nhi, and Nong Van Huu. However, none of them managed to secure a gold medal.
The best taolu results were: Silver medal by Vu Van Tuan; Silver medal by Nguyen Thi Hien; Bronze medal by Do Duc Tai. Notably, Duong Thuy Vi did not win any medal at the 2nd Wushu Sanda Asian Cup
Vietnam registered 19 athletes for the the 2nd Wushu Sanda Asian Cup. In August, the team will continue its international commitments at the 2025 World Games, followed by the 2025 World Wushu Championships.
“At this time, the national coaching staff is still evaluating the roster to select the most suitable athletes for each event at the 33rd SEA Games 2025. Every international competition is viewed as a valuable opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their abilities and gain experience ahead of the Games in Thailand,” added Mr. Vu Van Trung.
