Vietnam won one gold, one silver, and two bronzes at the 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix

The 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix (WPA Grand Prix) took place from June 13 to 18 in Tunisia, attracting nearly 500 outstanding para-athletes from 56 countries. At the end of the competition, the Vietnamese para-athletics team secured a total of one gold, one silver and two bronzes.

Athlete Nguyễn Thị Kiều delivered an excellent performance, winning the gold medal in the Women's Shot Put F57 category. Her result came as a big surprise to the coaches prior to the competition. On June 17, Nguyễn Thị Kiều also earned a silver medal in the Women's Discus Throw F57 category.

In the Women's Discus Throw F56 category, Trương Bích Vân claimed a bronze medal with a throw of 17.89 meters. On the previous competition day, Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Thúy earned another bronze medal in the Women's Discus Throw F54 category, with a throw of 14.58 meters.

Vietnam was represented by six athletes at this event: Phạm Nguyễn Khánh Minh (400m), Trương Bích Vân, Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Thúy, Nguyễn Thị Kiều, Hồ Thanh Thảo, and Nguyễn Viết Đại (competing in javelin, shot put, and discus events).

This tournament also provided an opportunity for athletes to undergo international disability classification assessments recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Furthermore, it served as a platform for athletes to achieve qualifying standards for the 2026 Asian Para Games, which will be held in Japan.

The 2025 WPA Grand Prix was also a valuable occasion for Vietnamese para-athletes to gain experience, exchange knowledge, and improve their skills through international competition.
