President Parsons landed in Ha Noi on May 14 and he was welcomed by Viet Nam Paralympic Committee (VPC) President Huynh Vinh Ai; General Secretary and Chief of Office Tran Duc Tho; Head of International Department Ho Thanh My and Head of Communications Department Pham Thanh Cam at the Noi Bai International Airport.
"I am very honoured to visit Viet Nam for the first time and receive a warm welcome from the leaders of the Viet Nam Paralympic Committee, especially the presence of the President of the Viet Nam Paralympic Committee at the airport," IPC President Parsons said.
VPC President Ai was glad to welcome IPC President Parsons and hoped that the working trip would help him understand more about the country and people of Viet Nam as well as the Vietnamese Paralympic sport movement.
In his visit IPC President Parsons plans to know about current issues and programmes for Paralympic sports development of Viet Nam, as well as how the IPC can support the local committee to achieve its goals.
As in plan, IPC President Parsons will have a working session with the VPC officials on May 15 and pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the afternoon of the same day.
