The competition took place in Nanching, China. In the 500m mixed four-person canoe event (men and women), Vietnam competed with paddlers Phạm Hồng Quân, Bùi Thị Yến, Ma Thị Thủy, and Hiên Năm. The team surpassed competitors from China, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and North Korea in the final round to claim the gold with a time of 1 minute 50.360 seconds.

"This is a great result for the whole team and reflects the athletes' efforts. All countries brought strong teams, so through this competition, our athletes will gain a lot of experience," said coach Lưu Văn Hoàn.
Vietnam also won four silver medals in the following events: Women’s C2 1000m: Nguyễn Thị Hương and Nguyễn Hồng Thái with a time of 4 minutes 42.210 seconds; Women’s C1 500m: Diệp Thị Hương; Women’s C2 500m: Diệp Thị Hương and Nguyễn Thị Hương; Men’s C1 500m: Nguyễn Hồng Thái
In addition, Diệp Thị Hương and Nguyễn Thị Hương brought home a bronze medal in the women’s C2 200m event.
At the end of the competition, Vietnam ranked third overall.
After the Asian Championship, the team will continue preparing for the 33rd SEA Games in December 2025 in Thailand and the 20th ASIAD in 2026 in Japan.
