Accordingly, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Brazilian Football Confederation will be effective for three years from the date of signing and will be automatically extended for another two years. The main content of the Memorandum of Understanding focuses on the two parties' commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields to promote the development of football between the two countries. Specifically, the two Federations will coordinate to organize regional and international football meetings and conferences; exchange experts, coaches, and teams at all levels; and share experiences in managing and organizing professional tournaments.
Along with that, the Memorandum of Understanding also mentions supporting the national teams of both countries in training and friendly matches; as well as creating opportunities for youth teams (from U21 and below) to participate in international tournaments. The cooperation programs also include activities for exchanging knowledge on sports medicine, rehabilitation, and football facility management.
Speaking at the press conference held on the same day, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also congratulated the Vietnamese national team on winning the Southeast Asian championship, highlighting the significant contribution of player Rafaelson (Vietnamese name: Nguyễn Xuân Son). President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized that Nguyễn Xuân Son is a vivid testament to the excellent cooperation between Brazil and Vietnam.
It can be affirmed that the signing of this agreement is an important step in the sports cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Brazil in general, and between Vietnamese and Brazilian football in particular, promising to open up many new development opportunities between the two countries in the near future.
It is known that at the end of 2024, the President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Trần Quốc Tuấn, had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Marco Farani - the Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam, right at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation. At the meeting, Ambassador Marco Farani affirmed that he would be a bridge to promote cooperation between the football sectors of the two countries and was ready to support if the Vietnamese national team came to Brazil for training and matches.
The President of the Vietnam Football Federation and the Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam also agreed on cooperation plans between the two sides, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese teams from youth levels to the national men's and women's teams to compete and learn from the experience of Brazil, a leading football nation in the world.
