Vietnam women's volleyball team rises to 32nd in the world rankings

The International volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced the new world rankings. According to the updated rankings, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has advanced one position, from 33rd to 32nd in the world.

Vietnam accumulated points now stand at 112.73, just 0.67 points away from breaking into the top 30.

With a world ranking of 32nd, Vietnam women’s volleyball team remains in 5th place in Asia, following China, Japan, Thailand, and Kazakhstan, reinforcing their strong position at the continental level. This is also the best ranking in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball.

Previously, the Vietnam women's volleyball team had reached 32nd in the world after their victory over Belgium at the FIVB Challenger Cup in July 2024. However, they later dropped one position, finishing the previous season ranked 33rd globally.

In 2025, the team is expected to experience significant ranking fluctuations, as they will compete in two tournaments that contribute points to the world rankings: the AVC Challenge Cup (Asia) and the Volleyball Women's World Championship, a prestigious global competition that Vietnam will participate in for the first time.

According to the draw, Vietnam has been placed in Group G with Poland, Germany, and Kenya—three teams that are currently ranked higher than Vietnam in the FIVB rankings.

This challenging group will certainly provide difficulties for the Vietnam women's volleyball team. However, it also presents a rare opportunity for coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt's team to compete and gain experience against some of the best volleyball nations in the world, helping them improve both technically and mentally.

To prepare for these important tournaments, the Vietnam women's volleyball team is expected to begin training in April, after the players have completed their commitments with their clubs in the first phase of the National Volleyball Championship and the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup.
