Vietnam is set to host the AVC Women's Champions League

Recently, the official website of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) announced the schedule and locations for the international volleyball events in 2025. Accordingly, Vietnam will host the 2025 AVC Women's Champions League, which will take place from April 20 to 27. Previously, in 2023, Vietnam also hosted the tournament and organized it very successfully.

According to Mr. Le Tri Truong, Secretary General of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, "This is relatively unexpected news, as before, South Korea was the country that AVC had planned to host the most prestigious club-level volleyball tournament in Asia in 2025. Ultimately, Vietnam was officially chosen as the host nation."

This will be the 9th time Vietnam hosts the AVC Women's Champions League, with previous occasions being in 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2023.

In the 2024 season, held in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand), Vietnam's representative, LPB Ninh Bình, also reached the final, but Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and her teammates were unable to overcome NEC Red Rockets (Japan) in the final match.

Vietnam's representative in the 2025 tournament will be VTV Bình Điền Long An Club, the reigning champion of the 2024 Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Championship.

The AVC Women's Champions League, organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation, is the second-tier volleyball competition in Asia. Originally planned to be held every two years, the first tournament took place in 2018. However, the event was not held until 2022.

In 2023, the tournament format was changed. The competition was officially recognized, and points were awarded in the FIVB World Ranking. The champion of this tournament will qualify for the FIVB Challenge Cup. The winner of the 2024 FIVB Challenge Cup will advance to the Nations League, which attracts the strongest women's volleyball teams from around the world.

In addition to hosting the AVC Women's Champions League 2025, Vietnam has also been selected to host the first round of the Southeast Asia Women's Volleyball League (SEA V.League). This tournament will be held at the Ninh Bình Provincial Gymnasium.
