This is the first time a Vietnamese futsal team has achieved such a ranking in the annual awards organized by Futsalplanet, one of the most prestigious organizations in the world for futsal.
In 2024, the Vietnam women's futsal team won two championships, including the Southeast Asian title and the Thailand International Futsal Championship, as well as a silver medal at an international competition in China. These accomplishments have helped solidify Vietnam's place on the world futsal map.
Thanks to his leadership in guiding the Vietnam women's futsal team to win the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, the Thailand International Futsal Championship, and finish as runners-up at the China International Futsal Championship, head coach Nguyen Đinh Hoang was also nominated by Futsalplanet for the Top 10 Best Women's Futsal National Team Coaches in the World for 2024. He will compete with renowned coaches from Brazil, Spain, Iran, Italy, and other countries.
The results for the Best Women's National Futsal Team Coach will be announced by Futsalplanet in February.
Earlier, in December 2024, the Vietnam women's futsal team and coach Nguyen Đinh Hoang were also named among the notable athletes and coaches of the year 2024 by Vietnam Sports.
