Trinh Thu Vinh ranks 17th in the World

Recently, the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) announced a new point calculation method for international competitions starting in 2025.

According to the new system, starting from 2025, the ISSF will apply this updated method to rank male and female shooters in events such as the rifle, pistol, and clay shooting disciplines.

In the first world ranking for 2025, recently released by the ISSF, Trinh Thu Vinh is ranked 17th with a total of 3,432 points accumulated in the women’s 10m air pistol event.

The top-ranked shooter in the women’s 10m air pistol event is Kim Yeji from South Korea, who has accumulated 6,720 points. Kim Yeji previously won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen holds the 52nd position in the world ranking for the women’s 10m air rifle event. The shooter from Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnamese national shooting team has accumulated 1,274 points.

Shooter Phi Thanh Thao is ranked 102nd in the world in the women’s 10m air rifle event. The number one ranked shooter in this discipline is Ban Hyojin from South Korea.

In the men’s ranking, Pham Quang Huy, who won a gold medal at the 19th Asian Games, is ranked 68th in the world in his specialty, the 10m air pistol event, with 664 points. In the 25m rapid-fire pistol event, shooter Hà Minh Thành is ranked 60th in the world.

As planned, the Vietnam shooting team will participate in the 2025 Asian Cup in Bangkok (Thailand) in February. The shooting range hosting this event is expected to also be the venue for shooting events at the SEA Games 33 in 2025.
