In the U14 boy's category, Dau Khuong Duy completed twenty-two rounds of blitz chess with sixteen wins, four draws, and only two losses, scoring eighteen points to claim the gold medal. With this victory, Dau Khuong Duy achieved a "double" gold medal at the tournament.
The second gold medal for the Vietnamese team came from female player Nguyen Ngoc Hien in the U16 girl's category. After twenty-two rounds, Ngoc Hien earned fifteen points to win the gold medal.
Another Vietnamese representative in the U16 girl's category, Nguyen Binh Vy won the silver medal.
In the U14 girl's category, Vietnam won a silver medal from Dang Le Xuan Hien, who scored 16.5 points, and a bronze medal from Nguyen Vu Bao Linh with 14.5 points. The U14 girl's champion was Kaliakhmet Elnaz (Kazakhstan) with 17 points.
At the conclusion of the 2024 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, Vietnamese team secured a total of five gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals.
The 2024 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, held in Slovenia, gathered 323 players from 35 countries and territories. Vietnamese young chess team participated with 15 players: Nguyen Anh Huy, Đinh Nho Kiet, Nguyen Nam Kiet, Dau Khuong Duy, Duong Vu Anh, Nguyen Manh Duc, Nguyen Vuong Tung Lam (U14), Banh Gia Huy, Tran Ngoc Minh Duy (U16), Dang Le Xuan Hien, Huynh Phuc Minh Phuong, Vu Nguyen Bao Linh, Le Thai Hoang Anh (U14 girl), and Nguyen Binh Vy, Nguyen Ngoc Hien (U16 girl).
