On the morning of November 22, the scientific seminar "Viet Nam's Sports Economy and Development Solutions" took place in Ha Noi, attracting the participation of over 120 delegates, including managers, leading experts, businesses, and both domestic and international scholars.

The scientific seminar "Viet Nam's Sports Economy and Development Solutions" took place on the morning of November 22.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Vu Thai Hong – Director of the Institute of Sports Science and Technology stated: Sports economy, although still new to many people, has actually become a rapidly developing industry in many countries around the world such as the United States, China, and European nations. Sports economy not only provides goods and services but also creates jobs, income, and makes significant contributions to GDP. In Viet Nam, with nearly 100 million people and an increasingly deep integration into the global economy, we are facing a great opportunity to develop this sector into a potential economic industry, bringing sustainable economy and social benefits.

After more than 35 years of renewal, Vietnamese sports have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the country. Although it has not yet been officially recognized as an economic sector, various types of sports services and products have been developing and attracting participation from many domestic and foreign businesses. The presence of major brands of sports equipment in Viet Nam is a clear testament to this potential field.

The seminar received many contributions that showcased a fresh perspective through the sharing of experiences from countries around the world, from which lessons learned and appropriate solutions were drawn to effectively apply and contribute to the development of the sports economy in Viet Nam.

Among them, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Hoai Son, Permanent Member of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education, stated that for Viet Nam, as the demand for health and entertainment among the people continues to grow, the application of advanced sports economy models will be an important step towards sustainable development. Studying international experiences while finding solutions suitable for Viet Nam's specific conditions will help the sports industry become a new driving force for the economy and contribute to enhancing the nation's position on the international stage. Developing the sports economy is not only an important source of financial benefit but also contributes to promoting the country's image, boosting tourism, and fostering community cohesion.

Sharing experiences in developing sports economies from countries such as the USA, UK, Japan, China, and Thailand, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Bui Hoai Son pointed out that each country has its own approaches, suitable for its cultural, economic, and social conditions.

For Viet Nam, learning from and applying these successful models not only requires synchronized investment in infrastructure and training young talents but also the need for policies to attract private investment, develop professional tournaments, and extensive international cooperation. To ensure the sustainable development of Viet Nam's sports economy, it is essential to create a favorable legal environment, focus on technology, and integrate with the tourism and cultural sectors.

By leveraging the advantages of traditional sports and encouraging business participation. Viet Nam can completely build a strong sports economy with its own unique identity. This will be an important foundation for Vietnamese sports to reach out to the world, while also bringing great value to the country's socio-economic development in the future.
