Trailing by a goal, the Vietnamese Futsal team quickly regained their control and responded with a well-coordinated attack, culminating in a swift shot from close range by Thinh Phat, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. In the subsequent minutes, both teams pushed forward, playing at a fast pace with chances equally distributed, however, no further goals were scored until the end of the first half.
The second half saw the Vietnamese team forced to push further up the field in search of an equalizer. With the red-shirted team's determination, numerous dangerous opportunities were created, but the Vietnamese Futsal players were unable to capitalize.
In the 40th minute, Indonesia sealed the victory with a 2-0 scoreline. This win marked Indonesia's second Southeast Asian title. The Vietnamese Futsal team got the runner-up position.
Prior to the final of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, both the Vietnamese and Indonesian Futsal teams entered the match with high confidence, as both had previously achieved a perfect record. While Coach Diego Giustozzi's team had defeated Thailand, Australia, Timor Leste, Malaysia, and Brunei, their Indonesian opponents had also overcome Thailand, Australia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
In their third appearance in the Southeast Asian Futsal final, the Vietnamese Futsal team opted for a cautious approach. However, Indonesia proved to be the better team and clinched their second AFF Futsal Cup title, following their victory in 2010 (when Thailand did not participate). Meanwhile, Vietnam finished as runners-up for the third time, in 2009, 2012, and 2024.
