Representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at the AFC Annual Awards 2023 were Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Chairman of VFF and Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - General Secretary of VFF.
In the 2023/24 operating year, in addition to improving the quality of professional football tournaments, VFF always strives to stabilize and develop football tournaments in the national competition system, from women's national championships, women's national cups, second and third places to U21 youth tournaments, U19 (men, women), U16 women, U15, U13, U11, U9, Futsal men's, women's and Beach Football.
For the Community Football development project, especially the FIFA School Football project, VFF has cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Training to deploy up to 1.000 schools in 63 provinces and cities across the country. The FFAV Community Football Project (a collaboration between VFF and the Norwegian Football Federation) continues to be expanded to more than 15 provinces and cities across the country (the Vietnam-Norway Cup is held for 5 years, each year attracting about 3,000-4,000 primary and secondary school students to participate; of which 50% are girls).
In addition, VFF has completed the development of official teaching materials for children from U6 to U12 and supported the organization of movement football tournaments for children and students, increasing investment in the development of movement football.
Before being honored to receive the Member Federation of the Year award at the AFC Annual Awards 2023, Vietnamese football was also honored at the AFC Special Award for Youth Movement Football and the AFC Special Award for Youth Football. Accordingly, the Community Football Project in Vietnam (FFAV) won the award for the best movement project in Asia. Accordingly, the Community Football Project in Vietnam (FFAV) has won the Best Grassroots Project in Asia award. Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Phương – Member of the VFF Grassroots Football Committee, Head of the Norwegian Football Federation Representative Office in Vietnam/Director of the "Community Football in Vietnam FFAV" project, has won the award for the Best Grassroots Football Leader in Asia. For the AFC Special Award for Youth Football, the PVF Youth Football Training Center won the Youth Academy of the Year award. It is known that VFF is also one of the five Asian federations chosen by UEFA to participate in the UEFA/AFC project supporting the development of women's football.
This is the motivation for VFF to continue strengthening solutions to develop Vietnamese football sustainably in the new phase. At the same time, they will continue to strive to contribute to the overall development of continental and world football.
