Vietnam wins one Gold in Asian Muay Thai Championship

The Vietnamese Muay Thai team has won one gold and one bronze at the Asian Muay Thai Championship held in Taipei (China).

Le Cong Nghi secured the gold medal in the men's 51 kg category by overcoming strong opponents and achieving a knockout victory against Filipino fighter Lj Rafael Yasay in the final match.

Additionally, Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc also won one bronze in the women's 51 kg category. With this achievement, the status of Muay Thai in Vietnam is not only reaffirmed in the region but also serves as a great motivation for young fighters to continue striving in the future.

The IFMA 2024 Asian Muay Thai Cup Championship in Taipei (Taiwan - China) takes place from October 18 to 22. The tournament features participation from 12 countries in the region with 200 athletes and coaches.

This is an important event where outstanding athletes from across the region compete to bring glory to their countries. Notably, the tournament is an opportunity for Vietnamese Muay Thai to raise the flag of Vietnam on the international stage.

During the tournament, a meeting of the Asian Muay Thai Council was held with the presence of national representatives from the region. The Vice President of the Asian Muay Thai Federation (FAMA), Mr. Mervyn Tan (Singapore), informed about significant tournaments in 2025 during the meeting. Notably, Vietnam will host the Asian Championship in Vung Tau in April next year.
