At the open session, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Southeast Asia Regional Anti- Doping for Doping briefed on the implementation of the ASEAN-WADA Memorandum of Understanding in line with the priorities of the ASEAN Work Plan on Sport for the period 2021-2025. Representatives of WADA and SEARADO suggested that ASEAN Member States need to cooperate more closely in preventing doping. Especially complying with the principles of these 2 organizations.
Also at the meeting, the delegates listened to Viet Nam's report on the results of cooperation between the Viet Nam National Anti-Doping Center (VADC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Southeast Asian Anti-Doping Regional Agency (SEARADO).
Accordingly, the World Anti-Doping Agency has supported Viet Nam by sending experts to help promulgate legal documents related to anti-Doping regulations (a typical example is the Anti-Doping Circular for sports activities); Representatives of WADA and SEARADO suggested that ASEAN member countries need to cooperate more closely in anti-doping efforts. Especially adhering to the principles of these two organizations.
Also at the meeting, the delegates heard Viet Nam’s report on the results of cooperation between the Viet Nam Anti-Doping Center(VADC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Southeast Asia Anti-Doping Organization. (SEARADO).
Accordingly, the World Anti-Doping Agency has supported Viet Nam by sending experts to assist in issuing legal documents related to anti-Doping regulations (a typical example being the Anti-Doping Circular for sports activities); monitoring the independence of the operations of the Viet Nam National Anti-Doping Organization by providing documents and guidelines.
In addition to providing training courses according to the global learning and development framework to build capacity at the Viet Nam National Anti-Doping Organization, the World Anti-Doping Agency also facilitates collaborative projects between the anti-doping organizations of China (CHINADA) and Viet Nam. (VADC).
Along with the World Anti-Doping Agency, the Viet Nam National Anti-Doping Organization also consistently receives support and assistance from the Southeast Asian Anti-Doping Organization in reviewing the annual education plan and providing feedback to ensure that this plan meets international education standards.
The Southeast Asian Anti-Doping Organization, with its regional capabilities and authority, also supports Viet Nam to organize many online workshops to improve capacity-building efforts; maintain regular communication and provide prompt, proactive support to address any issues and challenges that arise during the execution of tasks.
In addition to proposing cooperation between the anti-Doping organizations of China and Viet Nam, the Southeast Asian Anti-Doping Agency also facilitates Viet Nam's participation and accumulation of experience from major sports events in the region.
In the process of cooperating with the World Anti-Doping Agency, the Southeast Asia Anti-Doping Agency also provides training and education to enhance the knowledge and capacity of doping control officers and blood control officers.
