In the men's singles event, Tran Hoang Khoi competed in the second squad and made an impressive start with 289 points. In the following games, the Vietnamese athlete scored 225 and 247 points, respectively. Hoang Khoi maintained his strong form with 277 points in the fifth game before finishing with 182 points.
After six games, Tran Hoang Khoi recorded a total score of 1,433 points to claim the gold medal. Dylan Lam Nok Him of Hong Kong won the silver medal with 1,376 points, while Ahmed Adel Al Darwish of Qatar took the bronze medal with 1,359 points.
This is a notable achievement for Tran Hoang Khoi on the continental stage. Previously, at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025, Hoang Khoi won the men's singles gold medal, securing the first SEA Games gold medal in the history of Vietnamese Bowling.
The 25th Asian Youth Bowling Championships 2026 are being held at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta from August 21 to 30, 2026, with the participation of young athletes from 15 member federations. Vietnam registered eight athletes, including four men and four women, according to the official ABF participation list.
