Cheered on by a large home crowd, the duo Nguyen Le Thi Tuong Vy and Chau Ngoc Lan of Vietnam 1 delivered an outstanding performance, defeating the Thailand 1 pair 2-0 to claim the championship title.
The 2026 International Women's Beach Volleyball Championship featured 16 teams from 7 countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan. As the host nation, Vietnam entered 8 teams, including 3 national team pairs and 5 local representative squads from Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, and An Giang.

The tournament followed the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) 2x2 format, with teams split into four groups for a round-robin stage. The top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout stage—competing in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to determine the medalists.
The participation of strong teams from nations with well-developed beach volleyball programs—such as Thailand, Japan, and Australia—created exciting matchups and elevated the tournament's professional quality.
The 2026 International Women's Beach Volleyball Championship was part of the Sports Festival 2026 series, co-organized by the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association (Ministry of Public Security), the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province, and NovaGroup.
The tournament's outcome not only marks a notable achievement for the Vietnamese team, but also promotes the growth of beach volleyball, strengthens international sports exchanges, and showcases the image of Lam Dong Province and Vietnam to international friends.
