Quynh Nhu’s silver medal is a valuable achievement for the Vietnamese women’s gymnastics team at this year’s continental championship.
In the qualifying round for the women’s vault, Quynh Nhu surprised many by scoring 13.333 points, placing second behind China’s Zhang Yihan (13.450 points). This result secured her a spot in the final.

In the final, Quynh Nhu competed against gymnasts from China, India, Thailand, and Uzbekistan. After all performances, the judges awarded her an average score of 13.583, placing her in second place and earning her the silver medal. The event champion was Zhang Yihan of China, with 13.650 points.
The bronze medal went to Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak. This result was a major surprise, as few had expected Quynh Nhu to be a medal contender before the competition.
Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu’s silver medal is considered a remarkable breakthrough, reflecting the hard work of both the Vietnamese women’s gymnastics coaching team and the athlete herself. The last time Vietnam medaled in women’s artistic gymnastics at the Asian level was in 2012, when Phan Thi Ha Thanh won gold in the women's Vault event.
Just one week ago, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien won a bronze medal in the men’s vault at the 2025 Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championship.
