Chairman of the Sports Authority, Đặng Hà Việt, chaired the meeting with the Chinese Counselor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Đặng Hà Việt welcomed Mr. Hinh Cửu Cường for visiting and working at the Sports Authority; At the same time, through the Counselor, Director Đặng Hà Việt expressed gratitude to the leaders of China and the leaders of the General Administration of Sport of China for always creating favorable conditions and supporting the Vietnamese sports sector in various activities. Among them, in the field of Doping and Sports Medicine: recently, the CHINADA side has assisted Vietnam in rebuilding the national anti-Doping center system; helped categorize sports with a high risk of doping; guided Viet Nam in establishing result management and biological tracing committees – tasks that Viet Nam had no prior experience with.
According to Director Đặng Hà Việt, at the end of 2024, the Viet Nam Sports Authority is pleased to welcome the Deputy Minister - Vice Chairman of the General Administration of Sport of China. At the same time, Viet Nam also sent a delegation of officials to China to survey training locations for some high-achieving athletes in the three provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan in preparation for ASIAD 2026. During the survey trip, the officials from the Sports Authority received a warm welcome from the Chinese side. Based on the good relationship between the two sides, Chairman Đặng Hà Việt hopes to continue elevating the friendly cooperative relationship in the field of sports between the two countries to new heights.
On that basis, in 2025, the Viet Nam Sports Authority hopes to continue receiving cooperation and support from China in various aspects such as: training athletes in China; sending experts to assist Viet Nam in training athletes... On the part of the Sports Authority, they will continue to send delegations of officials to work and collaborate with the General Administration of Sports of China. In addition to the aforementioned activities, in the near future, Viet Nam wants to enhance sports and cultural exchanges in the border areas of the two countries...
Speaking at the meeting, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Hinh Cửu Cường fully agreed with the wishes and proposals from the Vietnamese side. He affirmed: As the Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam during this term, my colleagues and I will strive to further strengthen the close cooperation and support between the two countries. Especially in training and coaching, China will send coaches to train Vietnamese teams and sports; support and facilitate Vietnamese athletes to train in China. With the role of a bridge, the Embassy is ready to coordinate to implement this plan in the best possible way.
Counselor Hinh Cửu Cường stated: Currently, China is gradually transitioning from being a "big" sports nation to a "strong" sports nation. With the advantage of having more sports and a larger number of athletes, China will fully support, within its capacity, to develop the sports careers of both countries in the best possible way...
Also at the meeting, the counselor shared a new approach to sports currently being implemented in China, which is: NEW STYLE SPORTS SUBSIDY. That is, based on leveraging the strengths of the state while also harnessing the power of the entire society in the development of sports. Counselor Hinh Cửu Cường provided a specific example in the sport of Tennis. At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Chinese tennis players performed successfully. That result was achieved thanks to the support from various levels and sectors of the state, along with the involvement of social organizations.
In addition to cooperation in high-performance sports, the Counselor also suggested that the two countries strengthen cooperation in the field of mass sports. He mentioned that in Yunnan Province, the Ethnic Minority Sports Festival is always maintained, and a delegation of athletes from Ha Giang Province in Viet Nam has participated. This is an activity that contributes to the preservation of ethnic sports, especially Xiangqi (Chinese chess) – a similarity between the two countries.
Regarding anti-doping efforts and sports medicine, according to the Counselor's affirmation, China will enhance support and share experiences with Viet Nam.
The counselor also expressed gratitude and affirmed the continuation of the close relationship between the two countries. The embassy will actively coordinate to enhance sports exchange activities between the two countries; assist to the best of its ability to help Viet Nam achieve its set goals. Continue to support each other in international forums, etc.
The Counselor also emphasized: Viet Nam is entering a new era – the era of the nation's rise, wishing for the Vietnamese sports sector to develop even faster and stronger...
