Vietnam wins five medals at the 2026 Asian Kurash Championships

The Vietnamese Kurash team concluded its campaign at the 2026 Asian Kurash Championships with an impressive haul of one silver medal and four bronze medals.

The tournament, held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, brought together athletes from 24 countries and territories across Asia. Among Vietnam’s medal winners, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy delivered the best result, claiming silver in the women’s 87kg category. The four bronze medals were secured by Do Thu Ha (women’s 52kg), Nguyen Thi Huong (women’s 57kg), Nguyen Ngoc Nhung (women’s 63kg), and Le Huynh Tuong Vi (women’s 70kg).

According to the coaching staff, the athletes demonstrated strong determination and competitive spirit against some of the continent’s top competitors. The results provide a solid foundation for the team’s preparations for upcoming international events, particularly the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20).

Following the championships, the Vietnam Kurash team will continue to assess its squad, refine training plans, and select the most suitable athletes for ASIAD 20, scheduled to take place in September.
