In the rapid chess, Vietnamese chess players won two individual gold medals by: Pham Tran Gia Phuc (Boys U18) and Nguyen Vu Bao Chau (Girls U10), in addition to four silvers and two bronzes. In the team rapid competition, the Vietnamese players won seven golds, two silvers and four bronzes.
In the standard chess, Truong Phuc Nhat Nguyen (Boys U8) and Ton Nu Quynh Duong (Girls U18) won two individual gold medals. Vietnamese chess players also won four silvers and four bronzes in the individual competition, while the team events won six golds, one silver and four bronzes.
In the Blitz Chess, three individual gold medals by: Dinh Nho Kiet (Boys U16), Duong Vu Anh (Boys U18) and Hoang Tan Vinh (Boys U12). The team also won five silvers and two bronzes in the individual blitz competition, along with an impressive eight golds, two silvers and two bronzes in the team events.
With a final tally of 21 gold, 18 silver, and 18 bronze medals, Vietnam finished the championship as the overall runner-up, underscoring the country's continued progress in youth chess development and the effectiveness of its athlete training programs.
The 28th Asian Youth Chess Championship attracted more than 900 players from 30 Asian countries and territories. Competitors contested Standard, Rapid, and Blitz Chess events across the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18 age categories in both the Open and Girls divisions. Vietnam fielded one of the largest delegations at this year's tournament.
