The tournament takes place from May 19 to 24, brought together nearly 370 athletes and coaches from 7 Southeast Asian countries, including: the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and host country Vietnam.
In the women's judo championship competition, Vietnamese judo athletes won gold medals in the following categories: women's 44kg (Thuy Thi Phuong Ngan), women's 48kg (To Thi Trang), women's 52kg (Nguyen Thi Tuyet Han), women's 57kg (Nguyen Thi Huong), women's 63kg (Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy), women's 70kg (Le Huynh Tuong Vi), women's 78kg (Luong Nhu Quynh), women's over 78kg (Duong Thanh Thanh).

The men’s team also enjoyed a highly successful campaign with gold medals won by Nguyen Hoang Thanh (55kg), Le Nguyen Hung Cuong (60kg), Chu Duc Dat (66kg), Le Hai Ba (73kg), Le Anh Tai (90kg) and Tran Thanh Hien (100kg).
In the youth sparring events, the Vietnamese judo team has won 12 championships thanks to the results of judokas Nguyen Thi Tu Trinh, Ta Yen Nhu, Pham Minh Tuyet, Nguyen Hong Doan, Luong Nhu Quynh, Tran Hanh Trang, Tran Pham Thanh Phat, Le Lam Gia Huy, Nguyen Thanh Hoan, Phan Ngoc Dung, Duong Thanh Dat, and Nguyen Ngoc Phi Long.
The 2026 Southeast Asian Judo Championships served not only as an important regional sporting event but also as an opportunity to strengthen cultural exchange and solidarity among Southeast Asian nations. The successful organization of the tournament further demonstrated the capability of Bac Ninh Province and Vietnam in hosting international sporting events, while providing momentum for Vietnamese judo to aim for greater achievements at continental and world levels.
