Vu Khanh Linh wins Women’s 42km Title at 2026 Da Nang International Marathon

On the morning of March 22, in Da Nang, the Danang International Marathon 2026 officially kicked off, attracting nearly 9,000 runners from 75 countries and territories. The event once again demonstrated its strong appeal, bringing together both elite and amateur athletes to compete along scenic coastal routes and across the city’s iconic bridges.

Athletes competed in multiple distances, including 42km, 21km, 5km, and children’s races. In the men’s 42km event, Moral Edsel claimed victory with a time of 2:30:43. He was followed by Tezuka Tomoki (2:36:18) in second place and Melliza Cronie (2:38:52) in third.

In the women’s 42km race, Vu Khanh Linh delivered an impressive performance to secure the title with a time of 3:01:20, bringing pride to Vietnamese athletics. Yukiko Nomoto finished second in 3:03:00, while Simakova Aleksandra placed third with 3:07:37.

In the men’s 21km race, Japanese runners swept the top three positions. In the women’s 21km race, Trieu Thi Binh took first place with a time of 1:22:56. Meanwhile, in the 5km race, Nguyen Chi Kien won the men’s title (15:32), and Ly Mui Sau secured the women’s title with 18:37.

Awards were presented to top finishers across all categories. First launched in 2013, the annual marathon is co-organised by the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Pulse Active. The event continues to affirm its appeal as a major international sporting fixture while promoting Da Nang as a dynamic and welcoming destination to global visitors.
