The African Games will be a measuring event towards Tokyo 2020

Accordingly, South Africa will appoint 153 athletes and officials to attend the twelfth session of the continent's largest multidisciplinary sports event, scheduled to take place from August 19 to 31. South African athletes will participate in 11 events of the program's 26 sports: archery, track and field, badminton, beach volleyball, canoeing, bicycles, judo, swimming, table tennis, tennis and weightlifting.

President Gideon Sam said the African Games were a very important event in the South African sport program, the continent's most competitive event. Only one year left , Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will officially open and this is really a measurement event for athletes in the way of preparing for the world's largest sports card event.

Also according to President Sam of South Africa representatives are experienced athletes and the goal is to win tickets to Olympic. The athletes will also accumulate more competitive experience from this Congress to enter a more competitive playing field that is Tokyo 2020 if it gets tickets to continue.
